Opti9 adds $20m to upgrade datacentre includes adding genset and UPS

US managed Cloud hosting services provider Opti9 has announced a $20 million investment to upgrade its New York datacentre (NY1), including installation of a third generator and UPS to support an additional 1 MW of critical IT load.

The company told BBB that Opti9 is currently evaluating Emerson, Schneider and other UPS suppliers, and are actively looking at modular and lithium-ion based systems.

Built to Tier III standards and meeting the most stringent compliance requirements, Opti9’s NY1 offers the greatest amount of redundancy of any datacentre in east of Manhattan, said the company.
